This is a well researched discussion technique that is designed to improve reading comprehension through encouraging children to think about their reading and to engage with the material in a structured way.

It introduces the processes of Clarifying, Predicting, Questioning and Summarising and suggests ways that it can be used in the classroom by both teachers and Teaching Assistants as well as with individual pupils and in group work.
